Valladolid

After Coba we recommend you to visit the town of Valladolid, this is a beautiful colonial town, where you will be able to see two different cultures. People in Valladolid are very helpful and nice. For a very reasonable price you can eat tipical yucatan cooking and buy a nice souvenir. Valladolid is 1 hr and 20 minutes drive from Tulum.

It's located at 40km (25 miles) E of Chichén Itzá; 160km (100 miles) SW of Cancún; 98km (61 miles) NW of Tulum Valladolid (pronounced "bah-yah-doh-leed")is a small, pleasant colonial city halfway between Mérida and Cancún. The people are friendly and informal, and, except for the heat, life is easy. The city's economy is based on commerce and small-scale manufacturing. There is a large cenote in the center of town and a couple more 4km (2 1/2 miles) down the road to Chichén. Not far away are the intriguing ruins of Ek Balam, the flamingo-infested waters of Río Lagartos, and the sandy beaches of Holbox.
